Notes from the Alzheimer's Association's Annual Conference

MetaCell had the opportunity to attend a private event in Los Angeles, California where companies related to finding cures for Alzheimer's Disease presented their latest progress.

Companies ranged from those looking at specific druggable targets, such as CB2 or Fibrin, to those building research platforms around culturing brain cells, to those building novel brain machine interfaces, and many different technologies and approaches in between. The event was co-located with the Alzheimer's Association's annual conference.

MetaCell CEO, Stephen Larson, thought the event was clarifying. "Seeing more than a dozen companies, all trying to solve the generational challenge that is Alzheimer's in different ways really mapped out the landscape and gave me a lot of hope for the future," he said.

MetaCell's approach to building software that helps sort through the complex data types that exist in neuroscience complements the diverse needs of the community of businesses and researchers working on tough challenges like this. "We are now working with several of these companies to help address their data challenges. It's a win-win situation for all involved," he commented.
