System Administrator with DevOps Experience (Fixed Term Contract / Part-time / Full-time / Remote)

We are looking for a part-time or full-time talented System Administrator with DevOps experience to join our growing team for a fixed term contract with an opportunity for renewal at the end of the contract. You will be working within a team in a leading neuroscience software company with a strong international presence.

We are looking for someone who understands cloud system administration and the devops lifecycle, has proven experience building and maintaining scalable infrastructure with Kubernetes/Google cloud and building secure backends proactively, has high attention to detail and the desire to learn and dive with us into the exciting neuroscience domain. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in Google cloud system administration and in establishing DevOps processes and maintaining secure cloud infrastructure on Kubernetes.

This is a remote position, however meeting the team and traveling to the UK or US may be occasionally necessary.

Responsibilities

• Routine monitoring of infrastructure performance, resources, logs and backups
• Design and implement and maintain secure and scalable infrastructure
• Proactively detect downtimes and security threats 
• Create and maintain DevOps pipelines (CI/CD)
• Writing automation scripts

Essential

• Previous experience working remotely
• Spoken and written English language proficiency
• 3+ years of experience implementing and monitoring cloud based software deployments
• 2+ years experience with container based cloud deployments with Kubernetes
• Experience building secure solutions and penetration testing
• Experience with continuous integration/delivery workflows
• Experience working with Docker
• Experience monitoring and maintaining microservices deployments
• Experience working with Git version control
• Linux bash command line proficiency

• BSc / MSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
• Experience with Python a plus
• Experience in the life science domain
• Knowledge of privacy and security regulations worldwide
