Business Development Executive

Business Development Executive (Fixed Term Contract Renewable / Full Time / Remote)

We are seeking a Business Development executive to play a leadership role in developing and executing our business strategy in the commercialization of MetaCell's software solutions.  This role would expand our growth and value creation opportunities including partnerships, alliances, and other collaborations in the life sciences and healthcare software area. In this role, the candidate will proactively lead business development efforts for MetaCell with a focus on closing deals. This role will report to the executive team. The candidate will play a key role in strategic planning, sourcing, evaluating, structuring,negotiating and closing deals for the company.

This is a remote position, however meeting the team and traveling to the UK or US may be occasionally necessary.


  • 3+ years experience in a technical sales role 
  • MSc/PhD in neuroscience or relevant life-sciences
  • Previous experience working remotely


  • Partner with the executive team to develop and execute business development strategies to commercialize MetaCell's offerings to clients in the academic, pharma, healthcare, and biotech markets
  • Provide strategic input to the company's pipeline and business development activities and effectively convey recommendations to senior management, leading internal and external discussions with key stakeholders 
  • Structure, negotiate, and close significant and complex deals in line with the company's business development goals
  • Articulate and communicate MetaCell’s mission and capabilities to potential pharma and biotech partners, investors, customers, business partners, employees, and the scientific community 
  • Build and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients and partners 
  • Targeted outreach and engagement on social media


  • Strong knowledge & experience in B2B sales
  • At least 3 years of experience in business development in the pharma/biotech/medical device industry is preferred
  • Demonstrated record of personally closing SaaS / custom development contracts
  • Grant submission experience is preferred
